CAMPUS LIFE CELEBRATES

Posted on by Mark Lindberg

We have something to celebrate!  Well actually it is many “things!”  This year of ministry has developed in arranged plans as well as unanticipated opportunities and actions that have propelled us in expanding the mission of Youth for Christ… “To have a noticeable spiritual impact in Pierce County by engaging young people in the life long journey of following Jesus Christ.” This VISION is always before us; guiding our plans and keeping us open to new opportunities.  As I look back over the year I am thrilled by how God has channeled our efforts!

Collaboration is an essential to ministry expansion. This past fall it became a stronger pulse of every ministry site.  Gray Middle School Campus Life was on hiatus in the fall because we did not have a volunteer team to champion the ministry!  My expectation to commence this site last September succumbed to the harsh reality of not enough adult leaders to safely lead the outreach.  Reluctantly, I placed the ministry on pause with the hope that a team would soon be created to take charge.  January the hope become reality when a team of pastors and youth pastors from the south end, along with several other adults formed to develop the ministry!  Throughout the winter and spring remarkable ministry emerged!  What is exciting is the genuine collaboration between churches from wide theological differences coming together with the purpose of introducing kids to Jesus!

Ministry through volunteers is maturing. Not only at Gray Campus Life but at First Creek, Keithley, Frontier, Baker and Washington, teams of volunteers developed the campus outreach.  It truly is exciting to see ministry multiplied through the passion of adults and teens who want to impact youth for Jesus through Campus Life.  “Why did I wait so long to get involved!” shared Tim, a Youth Pastor who is developing Keithley outreach in Graham.   He voiced a common viewpoint that ministry in Campus Life is exciting and fruitful!  It is a joy to watch adults and teens utilize their gifts to build friendships with teens and through the rapport live out their faith and share their love for Jesus.

Lives are changed!   Thank you for your partnering in this ministry.  You have cause to celebrate!  You are impacting teens and their families!  We do have great cause to celebrate;  and look forward to developing ministry for the future!
