Jesse

Jesse came to camp with the strong encouragement from me.  He was hesitant to come because his friends from school and Campus Life were not coming.  Fortunately, he did come and so did 2 of his friends. They were inseparable at camp… every activity they participated together: sitting together at meals, hanging out during the free time.

God was doing work in Jesse’s life.

Every night when we had our cabin time small group interaction he would express his isolation and sense of neglect from his mom with tears welling up in his eyes.   Through the week I learned more about his sense of alienation from him mom.  The divorce of his mom and dad was difficult for Jesse.  Although it has been some time since the divorce his feelings of neglect were increasing.    He shared that his mom has been dealing more with her work and showering more attention toward his younger sister and leaving him to fend for himself.   He was feeling unloved and devalued.

He said yes to pursue God.  He wrote a letter to God that he left for me…

“Thank you for everything you’ve done to change my life so far.  I’m happy I gave my life to you.  But God what’s been going on in my home life right now, I’m tired of it and I’m begging you for a change.  I really need my mom to love me as much as you do.  I don’t want to be overlooked anymore, I don’t want to be neglected anymore and I really don’t want to be unloved anymore.”

Continue to pray with us for Jesse, his new found relationship with Jesus and the relationship with his mom to be restored.
