Mother and daughter—lives changed:
One of our volunteers was counseling middle school girls, but she brought her daughter to camp and this girl was in the high school camp. I didn’t know much about the daughter, but did know her mom had been volunteering the last year and was following Christ. After the first night’s talk the daughter shared that what the speaker was saying was really getting at her. She shared she wasn’t expecting to come to camp and change. She thought she would come, have fun, go home, and be the same. But here it was the first night and she was sharing how she couldn’t stop thinking about God and all He was doing. She shared of how her mom over the past year had really changed and really pressed into knowing and following God. This had been affecting her view of God significantly before camp. She shared she thought it was really time to get saved and this was for real. That she really wanted to follow God when she God back to Tacoma. The second to last night she had thirty minutes of alone time with God. She received Christ as her Savior and surrendered her life to him. She is so excited to follow God. It was a joy to watch God take her off guard and speak to her all week. He was speaking to her of His love, His plan, and her future. She shared it was hard to believe that of all the people on earth, God would pick her. He really had picked her to be His and to know Him.
