Surrendering his burden to One greater

One of our volunteers signed up his two sons for camp. One of the sons was in the High School camp with an amazing leader. As the week went on the leader saw that this young man desired to turn his life over to God but he was carrying a large burden. He shared with him it was time to lay it down and give it to God. The youth shared he wasn’t ready. On the second to last day the youth went on a hike to an overlook of the canyon with his cabin leader. He shared with him the burden he’d been carrying. He shared of the messy divorce of his parents and how his mom had turned him against his dad. He shared that he was beginning to see how his dad had sacrificed so much for him and loved him very much. He was able to lay down this pain and give over his anger to God. He received Christ as his savior and God is healing him! It was so fun to see this youth smile at camp. It was amazing to know the inside story of all he had carried and how he could rest in God and God’s love for him, and his father’s love for him through all that had happened. Kids are being restored to God and to their families!
